Quando si usano i pronomi impersonali in inglese?

Spesso noi italiani quando parliamo in inglese omettiamo il soggetto

È normale! La nostra grammatica è diversa rispetto a quella anglosassone.

Il pronome impersonale IT

Frasi con i pronomi impersonali in inglese:

What is it?

It’s a cat (Corretto)

What is it?

Is a cat (Sbagliato)

Perché sbagliamo? La traduzione naturale alla domanda:

  • Che cos’è?

In italiano è:

  • È un gatto.

Invece in inglese bisogno aggiungere il soggetto “it” che da noi è sottinteso , ovvero “Esso è un gatto”

I Pronomi impersonali “There is” e “There are”

La traduzione è la seguente:

  • There is: c’è
  • There are: ci sono

Forma negativa e interrogativa dei pronomi impersonali

È sempre importante allenarsi con le forme negative ed interrogative

Come si formano?

Per la forma negativa basta aggiungere il “Not”.

Per la forma interrogativa basta cambiare il posto del verbo con quello del soggetto.
